It is though many tears and a heavy heart that I acknowledge the loss of our dear friend Scott Newman.
When I met Scott I was in the throws of cancer treatment and just beginning DBDHF. I had many irons in the fire and was experiencing HIGH anxiety over the legalities of the foundation formation. Scott just somehow KNEW the stress I was under and reached out, figured out what and who I needed and brought them into my life. To me, Scott was a great catalyst behind this foundation! With out Scott I am not sure that I would have moved forward.
Scott brought into our lives with him his AMAZING family! Beth is my anchor, my voice of reason, the grounding I need and now sits on our board! Between Scott and Beth and with the help of family and friends they held events to raise money for us, baring all the expense and work on themselves! But anyone who knew Scott knows that was just the type of man he was....he was caring, honest to a fault and only cared that you were a good person...not how much money you may or may not have.
Scott had a way with young people...not treating them as if they are "kids". He took Christian under his wing and shared with him the LOVE of fantasy Football and Baseball. Christian LOVED his time with Scott and learned so much from him. Scott was always there to drive him home from rehearsal EVERYDAY during his show. Not too many people would offer to help in the ways that Scott would. ​
I know that we are better for knowing Scott and hope that we brought some meaning to him during our time of friendship. He will be sorely missed...that smile, the quirkiness...the passion for being helpful.
I hope you know how LOVED you were in life, my friend and will continue to be...your memories will live on in all whom you touched! Please know that I understand... and will continue to preach to the world... that disease is disease...no matter if it can be seen or not!!
Rest in peace my dear friend...​​​I know your pain is over...know that SO many people understood and will be here to see Beth, Alexxa and Bianca through the rough times a head...I know you would not have left if you could have done ANY thing else!! Love you...until we meet again!!

So it's been a while and I hope to catch everyone up over the next couple of weeks. But in the meantime we have an upcoming event!!! Our FIRST Chili Cook-off!!! We have a raffle going on with some AMAZING prizes, we will have raffle baskets and AMAZING CHILI!! Register to share your favorite chili recipe or come out and "judge" the entered chili!! Raffle drawing will be held at the event....you do NOT have to be present to win. If you are interested in raffle tickets you can see any of our volunteers, choir members or message us!! It's days like today that make it  easy to remember how blessed we really are!! When our home is full with the voices of young people and friends/family. 
Listening to these kids do what they do SO well...singing, playing music! They are amazing...they bring light and love into our home. I hope we are showing them what "good" friends really are! 
So many people never really learn how to be a friend....they forget that to have a friend you have to be a friend...sometimes being there for somone else, sometimes them being there for you.
I try to share my life lessons with my son and any one else who will listen!! 
People come into your life for many reasons...some for a short time...others stay longer...but they come into your life for  reason...even if you don't quite get what it is. I like to believe people come your way when you need them most!!
I am bless with SO many people in my life... 
New friends...Scott & Beth are a blessing...they want to help our foundation and bring their knowledge and expertise to the table...
Molly, DBDHF's music director extraordinare!! Hopefully she will be working with our kids ...bringing the best out of them! Today they filled the house with their beautiful voices...the sound definitely reduces stress....they are amazing!
Barb & Steven stopped by and hopefully Steven will bring his expertise to us by allowing our kids to record in his studio! He will be able to bring his musical talent to them. Role models are SO great for kids!
So as i look to my day...I see blessings...good friends/family sharing!  Friends that we have known forever, Barb & Steven and new friends like Beth & Scott...and Molly!! feels like we have known them forever. Blended together to make for a day of blessings. People that want to be there for us and/or our foundation...Blessings!
I guess it is so important to me to live life lessons for my son...knowing how short life can be...if he takes to his life these little lessons of friendship he will live a happier life. "No man is an island." Or shouldn't be!! 
Christian sees the loyalty of friends...he sees it in his parent's relationship and the relationships we share with others. Barb, who would come every week day with out fail to give me my injections. Agi, who was always there when i was sick and now is here for the foundation. My best friend of MORE then 50 years, Eileen...has always been there for all my ups and downs and I for her's.
I see my son growing into a good man...a good friend...a thoughtful human...someday a good life partner...that is my job as a parent....keep him safe and allow him to grow up and give back to this world...something...of himself. 
So, I hope you can look to your day and find a blessing...doesn't have to be big...just a blessing...that maybe can make you smile...
When thinking about your blessings...think about "paying it forward" being blessed and blessing others...
Think about what you can do to bless someone else's life...How can you be a friend...how can you pay it forward....because what we put out into the universe tends to come back to us 10 fold...good and BAD...let it be GOOD...acts of random kindness....consider donating to our cause and help us help a family battling cancer...the only way we can....day by day!!
