Second, it was summer and I REALLY tried to spend the time with Christian and Len...I wasn't always completely successful as I did have a few "issues". Third, Aunt Jackie became very ill and I tried to travel to Connecticut as much as possible. At approximatly 3:30AM on August 25, 2012 my beautiful, loving Aunt Jackie finished her long, hard fight with cancer. Aunt Jackie was only 68 years old, began her fight around the same time as I did at the end of 2010. For almost 2 full years she fought back as hard as she could against a disease that just wouldn't let go! It will never cease to amaze me how tolerant she was...she NEVER complained...no matter how much pain she was obviously in! I have to believe she is now at peace along side my Uncle Bob. We will always miss you!! RIP!
Forth, well, HERE is where the "issues" come in!!
Well, when I last blogged we were preparing for our "Ladies Day Out " event. WHAT an AMAZING success!! Thanks to everyone involved and everyone who came!! We will do this again!! That being said...I ened up in a great deal of pain that day (in the left side of my chest)...at the time unsure as to why! Then next day ended me up in Dr. Bruno Fang's office AGAIN!! Which brought me to Robert Wood Johnson! Concern was a possible blood clot...it was not. CAT scans and pain medication and I was on my way home...with less pain. Then a week later I hurt my mid back BADLY!! Again, unsure why. A week later I sneezed and the pain in the right side of my chest brought me to my knees literally! I was having a PET scans the next day so I took some medication and went to bed. When I received the test results it showed mulitple fracures at each one of the sites I had pain. The ribs under both breast and my spine at T5!! Now what!!! So, is this cancer in my bone or something else??? So we discuss it with Bruno and decide to do a DEXA scan first to see if I have bone loss...he is convinced it is NOT cancer. Me, not so much!! So, I go and get my mamography and DEXA. Mamo came out great...shows great healing...The DEXA scan however, shows SEVERE bone loss EVERYWHERE!! So, I call Sandy White...my wonderful friend and GYN! He tells me he hasn't seen too many scans THIS bad! So, what to do!! Of course allopathic medicine has a few drugs to choose from...none of which, as a holistic practitioner, I am interested in! So, for now we are treating it holisitically to rebuild bone and fight against all that I am doing that causes me to LOSE MORE bone! A NEVER ending battle!! Returned to Bruno a few weeks later and we have decided to take 6 months off from cancer... NO TESTING till after the holidays. However, the next thing on the table for discussion is removal of my port so I can get off these daily injections...we will see....
So, BACK TO LIFE!! The foundation is desperately seeking people to help out with fund raising. We have several NEW things in the works. Another "Ladies Day Out" type of event, a "Flash Mob", Christian is hoping to get a fund raiser going at his school. On the horizon for next year we are hoping for a "Tricky Tray" in April, our 2nd Annual Charmed by Claire's event and many more!!! Now we need bodies!! So if you or someone you know has some time to spare we can use people...with all kinds of skills!
Anyway, the weather is getting beautiful, my energy is UP!! I am working more and more each week. Up to several FULL days a week now! LOVING it!! Keeping busy with patients and the foundation!! Working hard to find the people who need our help the most. Helping those we can...the only way we can...day by day!
Keep your prayers coming for those of us in this "club"...our small personal club is just Nancy and I now....would be nice to keep it that way!! Have us stay here together...and NO NEW people to have to join or "club"...the club no one REALLy wants to join!!
I will try to blog with more regularity now and hope that we can reach nore and more people everyday!
Please consider helping us help other fighting this unfair disease...!
