I always remember her birthday well, not only because she was SO special to me, but because I gave birth to my second child on her birthday (something that was VERY special to her).
On her 40th birthday my Uncle Bob asked me to plan a surprise party for her....from NJ!! We told her it was a party for my then turning 4 year old son (he turned 33 today)! I was only happy to do it for her...she had ALWAYS been there for me! Going over and beyond what an Aunt is required to do! I will always remember her surprise, graditute and love!
We shared many things over the years...just sorry we had to share cancer! I wish there had been more I could have done for her...unfortunately we became ill at the same time!
I miss our long talks on the phone and the way she ALWAYS listened! She and my Uncle Bob were always there for me and for my children. I will always remember how honored she was when I asked her and Uncle Bob to be Godparents to my 3rd baby (Deana). They became like a second set of grandparents...very special to my daughter.
Our Aunt Jackie fought cancer they way she lived her life...with dignity and grace. Still managing to fix her hair and do her make-up till those final weeks... never complaining...always strong...independent!! Aunt Jackie finished her battle August 25, 2012.
I know she is spending this birthday with my Uncle Bob...without pain...they are together again.
So, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Aunt Jackie!! We love you and miss you always...Hug my Uncle Bob and my brother for me...Our loss was heaven's GAIN!!! I love you!
