Friday brought memories! I hadn't seen my friend Laurel since High School and, as some of you may realize, that was a very long time ago!! She came in on Friday from Virgina and it was a wonderful reunion!! Agi came by and we "girls" had some time together! We had a quiet family dinner and then spent several hours looking through year books and reminicing about our high school days and long ago friends! Saturday we had breakfast and decided to head out to SHOP!! We headed to Charmed by Claire's to see if we could find Laurel a Brighton Breast Cancer Bracelet. What we DID find was a newly opened antique shop! Another mutual LOVE that we have developed since our youth!! Of course we each found special items! It was great to be together. Laurel headed out to Connecticut later in the afternoon and then her plan was to head to New Hampshire to tie up some things so she could be ready to meet me in Connecticut on Friday! Agi and Deana will be traveling with me on Friday and we will get to see Susie and the rest of my family. We are heading to Ct. for a Breast Cancer Awareness Photo Shoot on Saturday! I was invited to participate in this fund raiser for Griffin Hospital Breast Cancer Wellness Center. I am very excited!! Sue, her sister Peggy, my nieces, Jodi & Jeanna, my great niece Cam, and several of my friends from high school will be joining Agi, Laurel, Deana and I!! We will all be decked out and getting our "PINK ON"!! It is going to be so much fun!! I have had a conversation with the photographer doing this and we are hoping to get him to NJ to do something similar for OUR foundation!! Please check his information out on my personal facebook page... Brian Photos! He is doing a wonderful thing!
Saturday night we will be heading to Bar 140 on Center St. in Shelton to meet up with many long ago friends!! It will be a mini high school reunion! Laurel has not seen anyone since graduation so this should be a great night!
Sunday morning before we leave we plan to have breakfast with 2 very special friends! Sharon and Rich! I haven't seen Rich since the mid 70's. Unfortuantly Rich has joined our "CLUB"! I can't wait to see him and give him the biggest HUG ever! He still has the same crazy sense of humor and his posts on FaceBook always make me laugh! So happy to have some time to share time with him! Hoping to help him through some of this craziness that cancer brings to your life!
Will be heading back to NJ so we can attend a fund raiser for The Chris Cooper Scholarship Fund! Had the opportunity to see my dear friend Nanette Reid on Sunday at one of their fund raisers. Once again, repairing one of those bridges! Each time I mend a bridge it makes me feel so much stronger...more prepared to fight this battle! So, Christian will spend Sunday afternoon playing softball for a cause...to raise money for this wonderful foundation founded in Nan's late son's honor. So many wonderful things can come from such despair! I guess it helps us to cope! I have missed you in my life Nan and I hope you are here to stay!
So, as I said this past week was full of memories and healing and preparing!! Beautiful weather! Feels cleansing!!
We will do our part to help other foundations meet their goals because we are all here to do our part to make this place, our world, a better place!
Tomorrow I get to start my weekend off early...no school so we are going to spend the afternoon with one of the MOST beautiful baby girls in the world...my granddaughter Madelyn! It always helps to light up my day!
When next week comes we will hit the ground running! We have so many things to get moving for our own foundation!! So many plans! We will get the word out as to out next meeting and we hope that many of you will find sometime to join us and help us help other the only way we can...day by day!
Once again, thank you to all of you who follow my blog, have been here to help me through all of "this" and share our info so we help all of those who join our "club"!
